Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Nickname Generator (nicknames.nikhilka.com, the "Service") collects and why. As of September 11, 2026 the Service is entirely free, has no account system, sets no cookies, and nicknames you generate are never sent to or stored on our servers.

1. What we collect

Nothing on the server side. The Service stores two things in your browser's localStorage: your chosen interface language (English/Russian), and for up to 30 days the name of the site you came from (for example "reddit" or "google", taken from the referring page or a campaign tag in the link). When you follow a link to our full version at nikhilka.com, that site name is added to the link so we can see which channels bring visitors. It says nothing about you personally. Under generated results you can rate them 👍 or 👎 with an optional short comment; this is sent to our main site nikhilka.com and stored with the tool and platform it was about for up to 180 days — without the nicknames themselves or anything that identifies you (submissions are counted per IP for one hour using only a one-way hash). We do not collect your name, email, IP address, or any other identifying information, and we do not run any third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the Service.

2. Cookies

The Service does not set any cookies.

3. Historical data (before September 11, 2026)

Before this date, the Service sold a paid "PRO" unlock and, to support that, set an anonymous device-identifier cookie and stored a device → "PRO: yes/no" record in Cloudflare Workers KV, plus payment data handled entirely by our payment provider (Paddle, acting as merchant of record) for anyone who purchased. That infrastructure has been decommissioned along with the paid tier — it no longer runs, and any remaining records are not used for anything. If you purchased PRO before this date and would like your record deleted, email us (§5).

4. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them (we collect essentially none from anyone, per §1).
